Course Details

ELIGIBILITY
The National Qualification in Suspension Training course is open to fitness professionals who hold a recognised, valid and current primary fitness instructor qualification which is accredited or mapped at EQF Level 3 or higher.

Not all primary fitness instructor qualifications meet the minimum standard required. If your primary fitness instructor qualification does not meet the requirements NTC will be unable to award a certificate for this programme, even if you have completed it, so if you have any doubt about whether your qualification meets the requirements please submit a copy of your primary fitness instructor qualification at least two weeks prior to the start date, or contact the NTC prior to enrollment.


SYLLABUS 

The National Qualification in Suspension Training course covers all relevant areas including:

  • History and benefits of suspension training
  • Balance, stability and benefits of unstable training
  • How the suspension system works and the various models in the market
  • Components of the suspension training system including anchoring positions and guidelines for various lever lengths. 
  • Principles of training and adjusting exercise intensity appropriately to meet the needs of clients
  • Functional suspension training
  • Exercise programming including modifications and progressions
  • Suspension training for special populations
  • Suspension training & rehabilitation
  • National Standards and Guidelines 
  • Comprehensive list of exercises for the lower and upper body suitable for group classes and 1-2-1 training.

​FEES
The fee for the National Qualification in Suspension Training course is €230.00 which must be paid before the start of the course.

The Suspension training course runs in the National Training Centre, 15-16 Saint Joseph's Parade, Dorset Street, Dublin 7 on the following dates in 2018.
