REPS Ireland Announces Membership of ICREPS

Killian Fisher, CEO of ILAM, announced on Friday October 22nd that REPS Ireland has been voted in as THE National Register for Ireland.

Under ICREPS rules, this means that effective immediately REPS Ireland is and will be the ONLY recognised Register for Ireland. ICREPS members are currently REPS New Zealand, Fitness Australia (REPS Australia), REPS UK and EREPS (Europe). REPS Ireland are also in discussion with other National Registers who are not currently members of ICREPS or EREPS but who will be applying for membership of ICREPS in the future. A number of very positive meetings have been held in Barcelona at the IHRSA European Congress this week following on from a hugely successful ILAM Conference last week.

In addition membership of ICREPS ensures a smooth transition to reciprocal recognition and REPS Ireland are now negotiating on reciprocal agreements with the respective registers.

As most of you are aware it is virtually impossible to gain employment in the UK Fitness Industry without being on the REPS UK Register. We expect this to develop rapidly in Ireland in 2011 from the huge interest and responses from employers received at the ILAM Conference last week following a session presented by the REPS UK Registrar.
