Functional Integrative Training (FIT) Course

Advanced exercise prescription with a special focus on improving neuromuscular efficiency, strength and conditioning.

OVERVIEW
This advanced course will give health fitness instructors and personal trainers a complete toolkit of innovative neuromuscular training movements that can be shared and taught within your group classes or in your 1-2-1 personal training sessions.

NTC have developed a unique CPD course for health fitness instructors and personal trainers wishing to gain advanced knowledge, expertise and skills in terms of developing physical activity interventions for advanced exercise prescriptions with a special focus on improving neuromuscular efficiency, strength and conditioning. With a unique focus on Full Body Kinetic Chain Movement (FBKC) and supported with cutting edge research, this course will provide the qualified health fitness instructor with advanced movement models utilizing a range of specialist small equipment including stability balls, BOSUs and foam rollers.

Course Details

ELIGIBILITY
The National Qualification in Functional Integrative Training is open to fitness professionals who hold a recognised, valid and current primary fitness instructor qualification which is accredited or mapped at EQF Level 3 or higher.

Not all primary fitness instructor qualifications meet the minimum standard required. If your primary fitness instructor qualification does not meet the requirements NTC will be unable to award a certificate for this programme even if you have completed it so if you are in any doubt whether your qualification meets the requirements please submit a copy of your primary fitness instructor qualification at least two weeks prior to the start date or contact the NTC prior to enrollment.


SYLL​ABUS
The National Qualification in Functional Integrative Training covers all relevant areas including:

  • Defining The Full Body Kinetic Chain (FBKC) -Integrated Function
  • Biomechanical Model-BioTensegrity
  • The Science of Integrated Training including; Functional Flexibility, Cardiorespiratory Efficiency Metabolic Efficiency, Neuromuscular Efficiency
  • Muscle testing and assessing
  • Full Body Kinetic Chain Function
  • Programme design, class structure and individual programming
  • Stabilisation training using the stability ball and the BOSU
  • Mobilisation techniques using the foam roller
  • Assessment

FEES
The fee for the National Qualification in Functional Integrative Training course is €230.00 which must be paid before the start of the course. 

Schedule and Locations

The functional integrative training course runs in the National Training Centre, 15-16 Saint Joseph's Parade, Dorset Street, Dublin 7 on the following date in 2017.
