Pilates Sale Extended

The aim of this course is to provide Pilates Matwork instructors with skills to enable them to modify the fundamental movements for the pregnant client and the older adult.

All participants must hold the National Qualification in Pilates Matwork Level 1 or equivalent.

Evidence of equivalent Pilates training and qualifications must be approved by the National Training Centre's Educational Committee prior to enrollment.

All Pilates Institute Ireland tutors are trained professionals with a vast amount of industry experience.

The tutors for this specific programme are respected authorities in the general area of Pilates instruction and, as with all NTC programmes, they are committed to providing the best possible learning experience and successful outcome for students.

Graduates of the National Qualification in Exercise, Health Studies and Personal Training will receive 60 CEUs (Continuing Educational Units) for their CPD obligations when they participate on the National Qualification in Pilates and Small Equipment.

Graduates of the National Qualification in Neuromuscular and Physical Therapy will receive 12 CEUs for their CPD obligations when they participate on the National Qualification in Pilates and Small Equipment.

The cost of the National Qualification in Pilates and Small Equipment course is €245.00. All course fees are non refundable and must be paid before the commencement of each course.

The National Qualification in Pilates and Special Populations covers all relevant areas including:

Pregnanacy:

  • Benefits of pre-natal exercise
  • Physiological changes associated with pregnancy
  • Common medical conditions associated with pregnancy
  • Modification of the fundamental movements and exercise programming

Older adult:
  • Benefits of Pilates for the older adult
  • Understanding the ageing process
  • Psychological & social factors which influence the older adults ability to exercise
  • Common medical conditions associated with ageing
  • Guidelines for exercise prescription
  • Modification of the fundamental movements and exercise programming

Do I need to hold any other qualification in order to participate
on this programme ?

Yes. All participants must hold the National Qualification in Pilates Matwork Level 1 or an equivalent primary Pilates qualification. Not all primary Pilates instructor qualifications meet the minimum standard required. If you have any doubt whether your qualification meets the requirements please contact the NTC prior to enrollment.


What will I be qualified to do when I complete this course successfully ?
On successful completion you will be fully qualified to teach Pilates safely and effectively to older and pregnant clients.

Will I need to get insurance ?
The National Training Centre's code of ethics insists that all NTC graduates who are actively working in the profession, hold a professional indemnity insurance policy which covers the instructor against legal action taken by a client as a result of an injury which was received when following instruction. Instructors who are working on private premises may also need to hold public liability insurance if such cover is not held by the owners of the premises.

How long does this course last ?
The National Qualification in Pilates and Special Populations is available as a one day programme.

Students of the National Qualification in Pilates and Special Populations will receive a written assessment at then end of the tutorial day.

Over 95% of students participating on the National Qualification in Pilates and Special Populations will be successfully examined at the first attempt.

Can I pay by installments ?
No - there is no installment payment option available for this programme.
