Overview

Bridging the gap between health and fitness, the Stability Ball offers cardio respiratory, muscle strength, muscle endurance, flexibility and balance training for the entire body.

The aim of this programme is for fitness instructors & personal trainers to develop the skills to enable the safe and effective use of the stability ball in providing a work-out that is challenging and fun for clients in both group exercise and one-to-one environments.

The National Qualification in Stability Ball Training is open to application from all fitness professionals who hold a recognised, valid and current qualification from NCEHS, NCEF, ITEC etc.

Not all primary fitness instructor qualifications meet the minimum standard required. If you have any doubt whether your qualification meets the requirements please contact the NTC prior to enrollment.

All NCEHS tutors are trained professionals with a vast amount of industry experience. The tutors for this specific programme are respected authorities in the general area of Exercise and Health studies and the specific area of Stability Ball training and, as with all NTC programmes, they are committed to providing the best possible learning experience and successful outcome for students.

Graduates of the National College of Exercise and Health Studies will receive 60 CEUs (Continuing Educational Units) for their CPD obligations when they participate on the National Qualification in Stability Ball Training. Individuals who gained their primary fitness instructor qualification elsewhere will need to check the number of CEUs available to them by contacting their original training provider.

The cost of the National Qualification in Stability Ball Training course is €230.00. All course fees are non refundable and must be paid before the commencement of each course.

Graduates of the National Qualification in Exercise, Health Studies and Personal Training receive a €30.00 discount on fees for this course and can participate at the reduced cost of €200.00

Do I need to hold any other qualification in order to participate
on this programme ?

Yes. In order to participate on the National Qualification in Stability Ball Training programme you must hold a current, valid and recognised fitness instructor qualification. Certificates will not be issued in respect of the National Qualification in Stability Ball Training until participants have submitted copies of the primary fitness instruction qualifications. Graduates of the National Qualification in Exercise, Health Studies and Personal Training do not need to submit copies of their primary qualification as the NTC will have this information on file. Not all primary fitness instructor qualifications meet the minimum standard required. If you have any doubt whether your qualification meets the requirements please contact the NTC prior to enrollment.


What will I be qualified to do when I complete this course successfully ?
On successful completion you will be fully qualified to deliver safe and effective Stability Ball instruction to groups of individuals.

Will I need to get insurance ?
The National Training Centre's code of ethics insists that all NTC graduates who are actively working in the profession, hold a professional indemnity insurance policy which covers the instructor against legal action taken by a client as a result of an injury which was received when following instruction. Instructors who are working on private premises may also need to hold public liability insurance if such cover is not held by the owners of the premises.

How long does this course last ?
The National Qualification in Stability Ball Training is a one day Advanced Certification Programme.

How much does this course cost ?
The National Qualification in Stability Ball Training costs €230.00. Individuals who hold the National Qualification in Exercise, Health Studies and Personal Training receive a discounted rate of just €200.00. There are no additional or hidden fees in relation to this programme.

Where is this course available ?
The National Qualification in Stability Ball Training is delivered by the National Training Centre at various venues around the country.

How will I be assessed ?
Students of the National Qualification in Stability Ball Training will sit a written and practical examination at the end of the tutorial day.

What age group participate on this course ?
Students of all ages participate on the National Qualification in Stability Ball Training.

What is the success rate ?
In excess of 95% of students participating on the National Qualification in Stability Ball Training will be successfully examined at the first attempt.

Can I pay by installments ?
No - there is no installment payment option available for this programme.
